Staff from the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) will provide an overview on the progress of the program to build a diesel-multiple unit rail line from Larkspur to Cloverdale in the North Bay. Joining us will be Chris Coursey.

Chris Coursey

Chris Coursey is the Community Outreach Manager for the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District, a public agency working to develop a 70-mile passenger train and pathway project in Marin and Sonoma counties.

He is responsible for coordinating and implementing SMART's outreach and education efforts, including working with local governments, community groups and individuals who seek a better understanding of the project.

Prior to coming to SMART in September 2007, he was an award-winning columnist for the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, often writing about transportation, land use and environmental issues.
He earned a BA in journalism from the University of Northern Colorado. He and his wife, Theresa, live in Santa Rosa.
