In an attempt to stay competitive on obtaining outside funding to support ACE operation, ACE will begin strict fare enforcement on March 17, 2008. According to the MAX blog, Stacy Mortensen, ACE's Executive Director, compared fare evasion to " walking out of a store with an iPod without paying."ACE is a proof of payment system with no onboard ticket sales on most trains. Passengers should purchase tickets from ticket agents at stations or print instant tickets online. Tickets are, however, sold onboard trains #7 and #2.
